A lot of stocks have traded into overbought territory over the past few days, and below we highlight the 25 companies in the S&P 500 that are trading the furthest above their 50-day moving averages. As shown, XL Capital is a whopping 55% above its 50-day, followed by JAVA, Ford, Fifth Third, Whole Foods, and CB Richard Ellis. Other notables on the list of overbought names include DR Horton, Corning, Harley-Davidson, Nordstrom, Best Buy, Bank of America, and Sears Holdings.
We also provide the stocks that are trading the furthest below their 50-day moving averages. Even though the market has rallied more than 25% off its lows, these names have struggled to participate. Most stocks on the list are in the Health Care and Utilities sectors.
