Since its peak on July 20, 2005, the S&P 1500 Homebuilder index is down 61%. For comparison's sake, the Nasdaq dropped 78% from its peak reached on March 10, 2000. Highlighting the move from one bubble to the next, the Homebuilders started their rise of 839% on March 14, 2000 (just 4 days after the Nasdaq peaked). Below we highlight a price chart of the Homebuilder index from the start of its rise to its current levels.
