For those readers who are superstitious, we calculated the historical performance of the S&P 500 on these days going back to 1960. The average return on Friday the 13th has been a gain of 0.03% which is right inline with the average of all days since 1960. Over the last ten years, though, the returns improve significantly with average returns of 0.28% and positive returns 63% of the time.
