Countdown to the Fed
Last week, we asked Bespoke readers what they wanted the Fed to do and what they thought the Fed would do in regards to their interest rate decision expected on Wednesday of this week. The responses to the 'want' question have been pretty split thus far. Thirty-seven percent of participants want the Fed to leave the Fed Funds Rate at 4.75%, while 35% want a cut of 25 bps. Fourteen percent want a cut of 50 bps and 14% want them to raise 25 bps. The results indicate a much better consensus when looking at the "what do you think the Fed will do" question. Sixty-three percent think the Fed will cut by 25 bps to 4.5%. Twenty percent think they will cut by 50 bps and 17% think they will leave it at 4.75%.
We're continuing the poll through Wednesday, so if you have yet to take part, please do so below. Thanks for your help!
