2007 Private Equity deals already higher than all of 2006

Last week, we compared this year's M&A activity with prior years going back to 2003.  Below we have filtered out all announced private equity deals from the list to see how they have been tracking thus far.  As shown, the total dollar value of announced private equity deals this year has already surpassed 2006's full-year figures.  The average deal size is higher than last year's, but the average premium paid for private equity deals is actually the lowest it has been in 5 years.
